Online Public Access Catalogue (iOPAC)

iOPAC offers you following facilities:

  • Simple and Advanced Search.
  • Browse through different Catalogues.
  • View recently arrived items by clicking on Recent Arrivals under Featured Collections menu.
  • View list of items for reference by clicking on Reference menu.
  • View list of items with digital media items linked to the item by clicking on Multi-Media menu.
  • View list of Journals, Magazines and News Papers etc. by clicking on Journals menu.
    • You can sort the list in any sequence by clicking on the column heading.
    • To search for a particular journal use Search Journal search bar.
    • Currenty subscribed journals are displayed by default. If you wish to see all journals uncheck the Current Subscriptions only checkbox.
    • View Bound Volumes button is provided to see the list of bound volumes.
    • View Loose Issues button is available to see list of loose issues.
    • Click on the Show Article button available to see the detailed article entry.
  • Make a Basket (Favourites) of different items.

A Refine Search option is available left to the search bar to set the search preferences in the library.

You can choose to allow users to search through particular collections by enabling a Collections menu option. To do so you can contact iSLIM support.

You can set the Search Preferences using Selected Libraries option next to search box which displays a list of all libraries and enables you to select the ones that you wish to search in.

Login as a user and View My Information that displays all information about your loans etc.

When you search For an item, only items that have a copy In your own library will be displayed by Default. If you wish To see items from other libraries too, you can Select the relevant libraries Using the Selected Libraries Option available under the Refine Search Preferences Option Next To the search box.

The iOPAC home page displays the recently arrived And popular items In library. If book cover images are available, Then they will be displayed On The Page.

The numbers Of hits On the site are also displayed along With the active And logged In users.

You May Like: Top 4 recommendations based on borrowed history And search history of logged in user are displayed. Recommendations on borrowed history And search history are displayed alternatively.

There are some additional actions available to you on login :

  • Submit Items: This option allows you to Submit digital material such as documents, presentations, videos etc. to the library for inclusion in the catalogue. You can also submit URLs of material available on the Internet.
  • You can enter the available information On the page And Submit Is For consideration by the library.
  • Proposals : This option opens a page that displays all the proposals submitted to the library. Proposals are displayed such that the latest proposals are displayed first. However you can also change the sequence by clicking on column heading of the Proposed On column. You can search for specific proposals using the Title, Author, Publisher, status etc. using the text boxes available below the corresponding column headings.
    • Add Proposal: This option allows you to send requests for purchase of books to the library.
  • If you have a supervisor, then the supervisor will be automatically informed about the New request And will need To approve the purchase.
  • About Library: displays some information And introduction about the library collection.
